Lauren Jones

The Embodied Mind

Somatic Psychotherapy & Movement for healing, awareness and connection

Welcome. I'm Lauren, a Psychotherapist specialising in the mind–body connection, with a background in dance, inclusive movement, the arts and somatic practice.

I offer a different kind of space — one where you don't have to have all the answers, find the right words or know exactly where to begin.

Sometimes we talk.
Sometimes we move.
Sometimes we walk.

Always, we listen.

Whether you're looking for individual psychotherapy, somatic movement, group work, creative facilitation or consultancy, my approach is grounded in curiosity, compassion and the belief that every body and every story deserves to be heard.

Our minds and bodies are not separate.

Our experiences can affect the way we breathe, move, feel, sleep and connect with the world around us. Sometimes the body communicates things that we haven't yet found words for.

Through psychotherapy and somatic practice, we can become curious about these connections.

Not to force change.

Not to interpret or judge.

But to notice, listen and understand.

“The body remembers what the mind forgets.”

Clinical Services

1:1 Somatic Psychotherapy
£65.00

Somatic psychotherapy offers a way of working that brings together the mind, body and emotions. Rather than focusing only on thoughts and words, it gently invites awareness of what is happening within the body and explores how our experiences can be held, expressed and understood through physical sensations, emotions and movement.

Our bodies can often communicate things that are difficult to put into words. Through a safe, supportive and collaborative therapeutic relationship, we can begin to notice these signals with curiosity and compassion, helping you to develop a deeper understanding of yourself and your experiences.

Somatic psychotherapy can be helpful when you feel overwhelmed, disconnected from yourself, stuck in familiar patterns, or find that talking alone doesn't quite reach what you are experiencing. Sessions may include gentle body awareness, grounding, breath, movement and other creative or embodied approaches, always working at a pace that feels safe and appropriate for you.

My approach is relational, compassionate and trauma-informed. I offer a space where there is no pressure to perform, explain or have all the answers. Together, we can make space for your whole experience — mind, body and emotions — and explore what you need to feel more connected, grounded and able to move forward.

Sessions can be online / in person.

1:1 Clinical Creative Supervision
£70.00

Individual clinical supervision offers a dedicated, confidential space to pause, reflect and explore your professional practice in depth. It is an opportunity to bring clinical experiences, challenges, questions and reflections into a supportive space where you can think, explore and develop your practice.

This supervision is open to anyone working within the helping professions, including psychotherapists, counsellors, social workers, creative practitioners, healthcare professionals, teachers, and those working in other caring or support roles.

Creative and reflective approaches can be incorporated where helpful, offering different ways to explore clinical work, professional relationships, emotional responses and experiences that may be difficult to put into words.

I am a registered and experienced psychotherapist with training in clinical supervision, and I offer a warm, thoughtful and collaborative approach. My aim is to provide a safe and non-judgemental space where you can reflect honestly, develop your confidence and skills, and feel supported in the important work you do with others.

Sessions can be online / in person.

Movement Classes & Projects
£0.00

Movement can be a powerful way to connect with ourselves, with others and with the world around us. My movement classes and projects create inclusive, welcoming spaces where people of all ages, abilities, backgrounds and levels of experience can explore movement in ways that feel meaningful and accessible to them.

I believe movement is for every body. My work actively welcomes disabled and non-disabled people and recognises that there is no single “right” way to move. Movement can be adapted, explored and experienced in many different ways — through gesture, rhythm, breath, stillness, imagination, sensation and connection.

Using the body as a source of creativity, communication and expression, these classes and projects offer opportunities to explore, play, create and discover new ways of being together. Movement can support wellbeing, confidence and self-expression, while also creating opportunities for connection, belonging and community.

Each project is shaped around the people involved, with accessibility, choice and individual expression at its heart. Whether through structured classes, creative workshops or collaborative community projects, the aim is to create spaces where everyone can participate, contribute and feel that they belong.

Looking for something specific? I also develop tailored movement projects, workshops and classes for different groups, organisations and communities. If you have an idea, a particular group you’d like to work with, or simply want to explore what might be possible, please get in touch and we can create something together.
