About me
My name is Lauren Jones, and I am a Psychotherapist specialising in the mind–body connection.
My journey began as a dancer, before leading me into the world of inclusive dance. Through movement, I became increasingly interested in the relationship between the body and the mind, and how our physical experiences can influence our emotional and psychological wellbeing.
Wanting to deepen my understanding, I trained as a Psychotherapist, exploring how we can use the body to support the healing of the mind — and how our minds, in turn, can support our bodies.
Alongside my psychotherapy training, I am a qualified Yoga Teacher, Tai Chi for Wellbeing Instructor, Somatic Movement Practitioner, and facilitator for The Mind Body Approach. I bring all of these disciplines, together with my professional and life experience, into the way I work with people.
A space to talk, move and explore
I aim to create a space where people feel safe, heard and accepted — a space where there is no right or wrong way to participate.
Sometimes we talk. Sometimes we move. Sometimes we walk.
Together, we can explore thoughts, feelings, sensations and experiences at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I encourage honesty, curiosity and transparency, and I believe that feeling safe and comfortable is an essential part of the therapeutic process.
My approach is flexible and person-centred. We might use movement, body awareness, conversation, creative exploration or simply take time to pause and notice what is happening in the present moment.
My experience
I have worked across the UK and Central Australia as a creative artist, dancer, lecturer and Psychotherapist.
I have a particular passion for connecting communities through facilitation, creative projects, movement and the arts. I strongly believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to be seen, heard and valued, and I recognise the powerful role that creativity and the arts can play in helping people find and express their voice.
As a Psychotherapist, I draw on the mind–body connection to support wellbeing and help people develop tools and coping mechanisms that work for them.
For me, therapy isn't about having all the answers. It is about creating a space where we can talk, move, explore, connect and share — together.
“The body remembers what the mind forgets.”
About my practice
I am a fully registered and insured Psychotherapist with my own private practice, working with individuals and groups across a range of community, clinical and educational settings.
I welcome people from all walks of life and I believe that everyone deserves the opportunity to tell their story, feel heard and have their voice valued.
Supporting you as an individual
I work with children, adults and older people, offering a flexible and compassionate approach that recognises that no two people are the same.
I have experience working alongside people who may be living with or experiencing:
Physical disabilities
Learning disabilities
Anxiety
Depression
Trauma
Eating difficulties and disorders
Postpartum difficulties
Psychological and emotional challenges
Life changes, uncertainty or difficult experiences
You don't need a diagnosis or a specific reason to reach out. Sometimes, you may simply feel that talking, moving, or having someone alongside you could help you navigate everyday life.
A safe and non-judgemental space
I believe in meeting people where they are.
My practice is grounded in compassion, curiosity and respect. I don't judge, and I take the time to understand each person's individual experiences, needs and goals.
Our sessions might involve talking, movement, body-based exploration, creativity, or simply spending time together in a safe and supportive environment. There is no expectation that you need to know exactly what you need before we begin.
If I feel that another service or practitioner would be better placed to support you, I will always do my best to signpost you towards appropriate additional support. For me, being an advocate means helping you find the support that is right for you, even when that support may sit outside my own practice.
Working in the community
I offer individual and group sessions in community, clinical and educational settings across and around the beautiful county of Herefordshire. I also run sessions online, including Singapore and Australia!
My work brings together psychotherapy, somatic bodywork, dance, movement and creative expression. This can include therapeutic sessions, dance classes, community projects and even raves — creating opportunities for people to connect, express themselves and experience movement in ways that feel meaningful and enjoyable.
Through this work, I aim to support people to develop greater self-awareness, wellbeing, communication and creative expression, while building a stronger and more connected relationship with themselves and the world around them.
There is no single way to feel better, and there is no single way to work with me.
We can talk. We can move. We can explore. We can simply be.
Why Therapy?
Choosing to start therapy can be a huge step. There can be many different reasons why you might be seeking support now — and you don't need to have everything figured out before you reach out.
Perhaps you have tried talking therapies before and feel that something is missing. Maybe you want to explore a different way of working that brings the body into the therapeutic process, as well as the mind.
You might be:
Feeling stuck, numb, overwhelmed or as though you have very little energy.
Wanting to feel more in control of your emotions or your life.
Feeling desperate for something to change, but unsure how to make that happen.
Feeling unhappy or disconnected from joy and finding it difficult to see a way forward.
Wanting to dedicate some time to yourself and explore parts of your life or identity that feel unresolved.
Feeling stuck and wondering why you keep finding yourself in the same patterns.
Living with experiences of trauma and feeling that now might be the right time to explore them.
Experiencing anxiety, depression or other emotional difficulties.
Curious about the connection between the mind and body, and how difficult experiences can affect the way we feel physically as well as emotionally.
Interested in exploring somatic or body-based approaches alongside talking therapy.
You don't have to know exactly why
Sometimes you know exactly what has brought you to therapy. Sometimes you simply know that something doesn't feel right.
You might not have the words for what you're experiencing yet. That's okay.
Therapy can be a place to slow things down, become curious about what is happening for you and begin to understand yourself in a different way.
My approach recognises that the mind and body are deeply connected. We can explore that connection together, at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you.
There is no expectation that you need to talk about everything straight away, and there is no pressure to move if that doesn't feel right for you. Our work will be shaped around you, your experiences and what you need.
Sometimes we talk. Sometimes we move. Sometimes we walk.
And sometimes, simply having someone alongside you can be the first step towards feeling different.
