Somatic & Authentic Movement — Online Sessions

Being witnessed. Moving freely. Discovering what your body has to say.

This online session offers you the opportunity to explore movement in a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space, with me there to witness, listen and gently guide you.

Authentic Movement is an invitation to move without needing to perform, achieve or get anything “right”. Instead, we slow down and become curious about what your body naturally wants to do.

During our session, I will offer a simple framework for you to explore your own movement while I remain present as your witness. I will observe with curiosity and without judgement, paying attention to qualities such as rhythm, stillness, breath, repetition, space and changes in your movement.

Rather than telling you how you should move, my role is to support your exploration and respond to what I see and sense. I may offer gentle prompts, questions or invitations to help you notice something, explore a movement further, or perhaps simply stay with what is already happening.

There is no choreography to learn and no expectation to move in a particular way.

You might move a lot, or hardly at all. You might work with your whole body, focus on a particular area, or simply notice your breath and sensations. You remain in control throughout.

What might we explore?

Together, we might explore:

  • How you experience your body and movement.

  • What happens when you give yourself permission to move without judgement.

  • Emotions, sensations or memories that arise through movement.

  • Patterns of tension, holding or repetition.

  • Your relationship with space, boundaries and choice.

  • Moments of stillness, connection and presence.

  • How movement can offer another way of expressing something that may be difficult to put into words.

Sometimes movement gives us access to experiences that words cannot quite reach.

This isn't about creating beautiful movement or being a dancer. It is about listening to yourself.

A space where you don't have to perform

Being witnessed can be a powerful experience.

To have someone genuinely present with you, watching without judgement or expectation, can create an opportunity to feel seen in a different way.

My role is not to interpret your movement or tell you what it means. Instead, I offer my presence, curiosity and guidance so that you can develop your own understanding of what your movement might be communicating or revealing to you.

We work at your pace, with your boundaries at the centre.

You don't need any previous dance or movement experience to take part. You simply need a willingness to be curious about yourself.

Come as you are. Move as you need to. Be witnessed without having to perform.
